How To Check If Your OST File Is Synchronized Or Not?
Before trying to fix the Outlook sync error with the given methods, check if the sync issue is between your Microsoft Exchange Server (MES) mailbox and the OST (offline folder) file. To check whether your OST file is being synchronized or not follow the below steps:
If you are not aware, all the Imap accounts in Outlook will sync with the Online server
Step 1: Open Outlook and right-click on any of the folder present in your Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts, etc.
Step 2: Select Properties and click on Synchronization tab and look for Statistics for this folder
Step 3: Now, check the stats of the Last Synchronized data.

Change Profile Settings To Sync Outlook

Fix your OST file To Repair Outlook Email Sync Issue
If this fails to solve the issue then your OST file may be corrupt. To fix this, you will have to create a new OST file and try to re-synchronize all the folders. For this, you have to first rename the old OST file, create a new one and then synchronize the new .pst file with the Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox. By doing this, your Outlook sync issues will be fixed. This will fix Outlook 2013 Sync issues, sync issues in Outlook 2016, 2010, and previous versions.
However, if you create a new OST file, the sync issue might be fixed, but you will lose your entire OST data. Instead, try to repair your corrupt OST file.

“Synchronizing folders” is the generic term for when Outlook is sending and receiving messages and when (if your mail account type supports it) uploads changes to the mail server.
Under certain circumstances this process can “hang” and indeed cause your computer to slow down quite a bit. Below you’ll find some common reasons for it and how to troubleshoot it.
Send/receive interval too short
Outlook can automatically check for new messages on a set interval. When you set this interval too short, a new auto check will take place before the previous one can finish and thus the send/receive tasks can accumulate so that Outlook is basically stuck in an endless synchronization process.
You shouldn’t set the automatic send/receive interval to less than 5 or even 10 minutes. When you have more than 3 accounts I wouldn’t recommend to set it shorter than 15 minutes. A good rule of thumb is to add about 5 minutes for every 2-3 extra mail accounts until you reach 30 minutes.
An alternative method would be to set 1-3 “high priority” accounts in a send/receive group which checks for new message every 10 minutes and all the other accounts in a separate send/receive group which checks for new messages every 30 minutes (or even longer)

When you have a message stuck in the Outbox, Outlook could end up trying to send that message until it succeeds. When it is truly stuck (for instance because it is too big), this of course will never work.
